Elizabeth began dancing at age seven and started more seriously training at 12 when she went en pointe. Her training was influenced by Barbara Remington, summer intensives with various teachers, and a Joffrey scholarship. Her dance career includes her First Apprentice with Pacific Ballet Theater, dancing with BodyVox, and the Skinner/Kirk ensemble. Elizabeth is a founding artist with Oregon Ballet Theater.
She began teaching ballet 22 years ago and has been part of the NVDC team since then! Elizabeth is proud to have attended various dance teaching conventions, been trained in the OBT Dance Teaching Program, and been certified to teach Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT).
Elizabeth’s favorite part of teaching is “Passing on the history of the art form, from the steps to the ballets, and music. And of course, the dancers--when I see them fall in love with the art form, and then they start to understand the steps, like a light bulb goes off and they 'get it!’”
