Maya began dancing at two years old. She grew up dancing in Los Angeles, California and at age five she began competing on a regional and national level. She continued her competitive dance studio career throughout high school and then became a member of the University of Oregon Competitive Dance Team. After graduating, Maya moved from Los Angeles to the Portland area where she works for Nike. She is also one of the coaches for the University of Oregon Dance Team. She is excited to be part of the team at NVDC where she helps dancers to find their passion while growing technically within their craft.
